I’m Jo Higginbotham. I started writing songs at 16 and was performing around the Fort Worth area a year later. I am native to North Texas and am currently based in Denton, TX.

I write and perform in many genres including americana, country, bluegrass, blues, folk, hip-hop, and rock. I also write music reviews professionally, many of which have been published by HunnyPot Live and some of which can be read on my blog page. 

I’ve earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radio, Television, and Film; a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Studies, majoring in Ethnomusicology (the study of people making music), from the University of North Texas; and am Certified in Audio Production.

I am a member of BMI, Dallas Songwriters Association, Nashville Songwriters Association International and Global Songwriters Connection.

I have been recognized for my songwriting abilities and have released over 52 original songs and 6 albums.  I was featured for my music and songwriting in multiple newspapers and online music publications.
